Choose Lactation Visits At Home Or My Clinic in Moss Bluff
Breastfeeding support isn’t too far away! I’m Courtney, your Lake Charles lactation consultant ready to provide relief and help you reach your feeding goals. The early days of breastfeeding leave you confused, worried, and stressed (especially as first-time parents).
Working with me eliminates fears and builds your confidence as a parent. Breastfeeding has a massive learning curve, and you can lean on my 20 years of experience. Guidance from an expert IBCLC — and mom of 4 — sets you up for successful, joyful breastfeeding.
Paula.
I was referred to Courtney at the hospital due to my baby having a tongue tie and needing outside help breastfeeding. If it wasn't for Courtney's help I would have gave up after the first week; she was a answered prayer. She met with me and laid out all the information I needed to help him with therapy, surgery, and continual breastfeeding during that period. Even after our initial visit I've met with her a couple times and our sessions have always been very personal and it was very comfortable working with her. If I had any questions or needed any help I was able to reach out and she was always there for me. This is my third baby and I've breastfed in the past but was not successful in continuing my journey usually past 6 weeks. Courtney has gave me the tools and knowledge to help me continue to breastfeed. I would not have been able to do this without her.

Pregnancy or birth complications
Health or medical concerns (for you or baby)
Breast exam
Oral assessment
Weight checks to check milk transfer

Referrals as needed
Personalized Care Plan
Together, we look at how you want your breastfeeding journey to be. Every family has unique needs, like siblings, going back to work, daycare, choosing to exclusively pump, or combo feeding. We address it all and come up with a specific feeding plan for your family.
Follow-up
Not to burst your bubble about a quick fix but… We want to make sure your family gets all the support you need to successfully handle initial concerns and any bumps along the way. You might need more than one visit, especially if your baby has a tongue tie or was a preemie. Usually, follow-ups take 30-45 minutes, and we cover any remaining difficulties. (Plus, I keep reminding you of the amazing mom you are!)
BONUS: Find comfort in knowing you get added text/email/phone support. When those middle-of-the-night questions come up or something happens during the day that makes you question yourself, reach out so I can reassure and guide you. All my clients get 30 days of extra support!
Let’s Get To The Bottom Of What’s Going On — So You Can Enjoy Breastfeeding!
FAQs

Bottom line? You have to trust your body.
Welcome to motherhood where it’s easy to worry about every single thing. It’s hard to believe your body’s making enough milk when society shoves down your throat you might not be (so buy this special cookie).
Let me help you learn to trust yourself so you can feel confident in your milk supply. Whatever that looks like, whether you’re strictly breastfeeding or pumping. Believe it or not, supplementing isn’t needed that often. It’s more about our bodies adjusting to the needs of our baby.

Just like those tiny toes and fingers, your newborn’s belly is extremely small. They need small frequent meals, which means sleep’s hard to come by — especially those first few months. Hang in there. It does get better!

IBCLCs have the most extensive knowledge in understanding the science behind lactation. We must pass an International exam — and are required to get at least 1,500 hours working with breastfeeding families before we can sit for the exam.
CLCs go through about 40-50 hours worth of training and know some stuff. But when it comes to feeding your baby around the clock, you want a professional expert. Even pediatricians don’t have the extensive and specialized knowledge IBCLCs do. (They have enough on their plate, so leave it to me.)
